Introducing the Quest Travel Smart Pro Hydrus 420 Pro Driveaway Awning, this model suited to smaller motorhomes and vans with thanks to its 210 to 240 cm awning connection height. The awning is turned on its side and therefore runs along your motorhome which means you get plenty of usable space and yet, fits onto a standard pitch! The canvas has been produced from Quest’s HydroDore SL Pro fabric, a middleweight 150-denier featuring a high-performing UV coating. The material features the perfect balance between being light for ease of use and durability for strength and longevity. Offering excellent weather and water resistance and feature an easy to manage canvas provides user with an excellent touring and travelling awning.
Upfront, the Hydrus Pro features one large panel that provides user friendly access (with peg-down/flat entry points), the panel can be rolled-up leaving the entrance tidy. The integrated canopy provides shading on those sunny days and on those drizzling days the canopy provides rain-safe entry. The two panels upfront are independently operated, one up, one down or both rolled open allowing you to customise your set-up as the weather dictates. Variable opening control on those warmer days means the awning is pet friendly, while the air flows through open panels your dog can remain cool and calm.
Large clear view windows surround the front and sides providing great views out for overlooking your surroundings, and allow in ample of light providing comfortable living conditions. By night internal blinds provide privacy, they can also be used during the day for filtering out light and keeping conditions that little bit cooler.
In addition, the awning comes complete with storm poles that can used in changeable weather providing added strength and rigidity to your pitch. The full-tubbed sewn-in groundsheet provides that layer protection again the damp ground and helps to keep those pesky insects at bay.
Access to your motorhome is quick with thanks to the tunnel doors, this saves treading though your awning should you be wearing muddy clothing! Both the left and right-hand side of the awning features tunnel access. The tunnel area is a great place to store muddy camping gear as any bicycles you have brought along with you. Should you wish to driveaway the tunnel can be rolled back towards the awning and the living area can be sealed off with thanks to the living area/tunnel divider.
Proving the awning with its durable structure is with thanks to its Advance Air System 2 (AAS2). The system provides 4 layers offering strength and stability, pitch after pitch. It has an internal bladder which is the part you inflate, next you then have a dual layer protective cover; that has a PE and polyester covers bonded together to give the tube protection and further stability. The PE layer has been reinforced at the stress points providing longevity and extra strength. Finally, you then have a sleeve which is sewn into the awning. This improves the protection around your air tubes as well as the stability of the awning; as the tubes are held in position better.
The AntiWeather system is not one item but a host of improvements and updates that gives the awning better weather protection. There are additional weather panels sewn into the canvas at points where the weather could get in. These panels are P.U. coated on both sides and taped on both sides giving you better weather protection. There is additional guttering on external windows with zips which add extra protection against the rain. All tie back points or pockets that are sewn in are made from 100% waterproof PVC rather than standard webbing material. Standard material can soak water up and eventually lead to leaks the waterproof PVC simply does not.
