Product Reviews
The latest event shelter from Colman is the Coleman Event Shelter Deluxe! This model has been built to be used during longer periods of times. At 460cm x 460cm wide provides 21.16m² of coverage outside protecting friends and family from the weather and the sun! Can either be used in the garden, at the campsite or even at corporate events! Simple to assemble with thanks to its steel pole structure and the 150-Denier canvas features a Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm for excellent waterproofing!
'Event Shelters' may also be described as 'Hubs', 'Gazebos', 'Day Tents' or 'Day Shelters', they are a brilliant outdoor asset for creating a communal area for summer entertaining at home in the garden, for those family get-togethers, barbecues, picnics and they’re also a useful accessory to take away when camping or caravanning, Event Shelters are becoming an increasingly popular alternative over porch awnings or drive-away awnings as they openly invite you to the outdoors without the feeling of being enclosed.
We recommend that Event Shelters should only be pitched and used on clear, crisp, dry sunny summer or spring days. They are designed to provide effective shelter from harmful UV rays, reducing your risk of sunburn and ultimately providing cooler and comfortable outdoor living. Event Shelters only provide full sun sheltering and privacy when you opt for one of our Full Wall Kits.
An event shelter will never be waterproof as they are open-sided and the additional panels are clipped-in and do not create a water tight barrier so rain water can intrude. They will offer some protection and a place of refuge in light rain or drizzle. During thunderstorms, hail or driving rain, we recommend packing the shelter away and seeking a safe and alternative refuge such as your car, caravan, campervan, motorhome or house.
In any strong winds we recommend that, for your safety and of the safety of others around, you pack-down the shelter. Due to their design, gusts of wind may lift them from the ground and if they become unpegged, this could cause a hazard. For use in a light breeze and on those dry days please ensure you take the time to peg the shelter securely.
