Upgraded to 700c wheels, featuring front suspension, built on a lighter alloy frame, featuring ergonomic grips and retro-fitted with a Black Explorer Saddle are just some of the enchanced featured compared to the Urban Range. Introducing the sporty Explorer 300 from Claud Butler! The Urban 300 is the third bike within the Explore range and in quick summary, upgrades over the 200 include: Clarks M2 hydraulic disc brakes, SR Suntour XCR chainset and the Shimano Altus 27-speed gearset. Retro-fitted with SR Suntour NEX Trekking Suspension fork allows the bike to iron out rough terrain for that added comfort and support!
With improved Shimano gearing provides an extremely versatile 27-speed gearset! The Altus gearing components, upgraded chainwheel and freewheel drive systems offer better low range gearing for steeper hills on or off-road while on the smoother surfaces you can apply the power. Changing gear has been improved, the Shimano Rapidfire SL-M370 Altus provides a smoother gear selection rather than a heavier snappy motion.
The 700c wheelset gives the bike a lighter and a nimble feel. The 700c wheels are often featured on road bikes but, equipped with trekking tyres enhances durability and grip, this combination allows you to maintain momentum with little drag. Working in harmony with the wheelset, as you plough your way through multiple terrain, is the front suspension unit; with 50mm of travel the Explorer 300 provides extra stability. The Black Explorer Saddle, the erogomic grips and front suspension makes riding enjoyable the components work in harmony to divert the stress and strains away from your wrists, arms and upper body allowing you to go further for longer. Should you find yourself bouncing along on smooth terrain, the front lock-out closes the suspension for a firmer ride!
Braking has been improved with thanks to the Clarks M2 Hydraulic Disc Brakes, retro-fitted with 160mm rotors. The brakes are more controllable and fluid to iron out the jerky braking. Smoother braking provides you with improved confidence to manage acsents, and should condtions be damp or muddy the brakes are more efficient. Where v-brakes may slip or clog, the bike’s rim can rotate uninterrupted and also, eliminates rim-wear!
